Internally swaged type
The hose tail is secured by enlarging the insert to clamp the body of the hose
against the external ferrule. When the swaging process is complete the bore of
the hose and the bore of the end fi tting are the same. The resulting smooth bore
eliminates turbulence in the fl uid fl ow.
Working pressure is up to 40Bar.
Externally swaged type.
The hose tail is secured by crimping the external ferrule to clamp the hose
body against the serrated internal tail insert. For higher pressure applications
the ferrule may be internally serrated and welded to the insert.
Working pressure range is up to 40Bar.
Hammer union swaged type
The hammer lug union, also known as a “WECO” coupling, hammer lug union or
hammer lug adaptor, is used for quick connecting fl exibles and pipelines.
Available in a variety of options, including threaded API line pipe, butt weld and
sour gas service. They are suitable for low pressure, Fig 50 (500psi), right up to
Fig 2202, (20,000psi). The unions are manufactured from Forgings and come
complete with material certifi cation. Working pressure is up to 25Bar.
Other options
- Soft cuffs. To facilitate coupling, the helix wire is terminated before the end
of the hose and the end is completed with fabric reinforcement to provide ade
quate strength and wall thickness.
- Enlarged end. The end is enlarged to match the O.D. of the shank of a fi tting.
